Kathryn-kay Johnson (born in St. Andrew, Jamaica) is an American digital media and video artist. Her practice uses text, fabric, video, sculpture, and performance to explore African Diasporic vernacular histories/mythologies, and issues around labor, housing, and identity. Her work gives voice to the powerful, inarticulable, contradiction-filled crises and delights of the human experience. She is currently an MFA candidate at the Yale University School of Art.
